History of La Guinguette de Neuilly
The legend of Ile de la Jatte is drawn from history, art and industry.
In the early 20th century, a guinguette was a café for boaters along the river.
Boaters mingled here with the island’s factory workers. The large stove, which dates from this period, stood in the centre of the building to keep customers warm.
The island was often visited by artists of every discipline.
Around 1960, industrial activity on the island expanded with the arrival of printing businesses and the first residences.
This small guinguette on the Seine, nestled on the banks of Ile de la Jatte, has retained its charm, enticing guests to enjoy its authentic and inviting setting.
